ROOF PAINTING AND SURFACE RUST MITIGATION
Extend the life of your roof by 15 years!
Surface Rust Mitigation:
FHS Roofing Ltd chooses to use the Duraltect coating system and has done so for the last 55 years. We have never found another coating which compares to it in durability. When applied to a deteriorating roof we find that this system generally lasts 15-25 years before another single maintenance coat is required.
We have roofs which have done 35 years and still counting!
Acrylic Roof Coating:
If you are looking to change the colour or look of your sheet-metal roof there is no need to go with full replacement. Get in touch today to discuss roof-painting options.
MORE ABOUT THE DURALTECT SYSTEM
If your roof surface is showing signs of deterioration, now is the time to coat it before rust becomes extensive. This not only greatly increases the life of your roof but also improves the appearance. The completed coating has a bright silver finish similar in appearance to new Zincalume roofing iron.
Over time, it has been proven that it is up to 80% cheaper to re-coat your roof rather than leaving it to rust away and then replace. Besides the extra expense, full roof replacement is often disruptive for the occupiers and brings with it a whole raft of safety issues.
The typical process:
The tenants are spoken to about the proposed work (if the building is tenanted)
Gutters are cleaned out and any repair work completed
The roof is cleaned by water-blasting
If necessary, the ridging is removed to clean and coat under it before re-fixing (this is where it is most likely to rust out)
Rust is primed with a heavy coat of Duraltect Rust Prime
Two coats of Duraltect are applied
